Burkei is your chance to plan a whole weekend of adventures.
From lazy days in the private pool, sunbathing along the riverbank or setting off on an adventure with one of the hiking trails they offer, you can enjoy them all!
Burkei is located about an hour to two hours outside of Pretoria/Johannesburg. They offer five self-catering cottages that sleeps 4-8 people depending on the cottage you book. Each unit has it’s own private pool, braai area and more.
The hiking trails available are definitely suited for beginners thus anyone can enjoy them. They have a 3km and 5km route on the property or you can simply cut off to the “looky look” where you can watch the sun set behind the surrounding mountains. A good option to make some spectacular sundowner memories.
There is a river on the property opposite Burkei which we were informed belong to them thus we could take a walk down to the river and enjoy time sunbathing on the riverbank with some beer shandys on hand. The river is popular for fishing and swimming too if you feel like it!
It’s important to know that the cottages aren’t fenced and your dog will require a good recall to visit or you will need to consider the option of leashing your dog to avoid him/her bothering the other guests.
Bookings can be made through Jardyne on 082 889 8457. Prices can differ depending on the cottage, time of year and if they are currently running any specials you can make us of. They do offer a standard Pet Fee of R50 per dog for your stay.
