We had a paw-tastic time at the new Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie VIP Event at Irene Village Mall

Lights, camera, action! We stole the Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie show at Irene Village Mall in Centurion, South Africa. The stage was set, we were all buzzing with excitement and safe to say, the students smashed it out of the park. They were the real-show stealers.

The event was a whirlwind of fun, laughter and loads of kiddos. Nickelodeon had their cameras rolling and captured everything! The dogs did their show, took loads of pictures and interacted with the kids and VIP’s. Seeing everyone laughing and enjoying the day was delightful.

Riley started the show. She is a remarkable 9-year old explosives detection dog with a rich history of service in Somalia. She now lives with the bestest dog mom and is enjoying being retired. After taking center stage, she wowed the audience with her scent detection abilities. Tennis balls are her favorite thing and nothing gets in the way of her finding them. Tasha, Riley’s sister was also super cute throughout and great for moral support.  Older dogs can totally learn new tricks.

“Tasha and Riley had such an awesome afternoon exploring the launch. From pup cups to tennis balls, all the dogs had a lot of fun and settled well in a new and busy environment” - Michelle

Next up on the stage was Soda. She showed us that the stigma surrounding black dogs is just that- a stigma. She is a rescue and definitely a super friendly, adventure dog- pretty sure she’s travelled more than I have. She delighted the crowd with her tricks, my personal favorite being her “jump for joy” into the air and her “bow” at the end of the routine.

“Soda and I had a great time taking in all the sights, sounds and smells at the event. It’s so fun seeing Soda do her own thing in public and we were blown away with how well-adjusted all the Treat to Train dogs were” – Zani

Aramis was up next bearing gifts for a few of the kiddos in the crowd. He is an amazing agility competitor and retired flyball competitor. Speed and drive are two things he really has loads of. We prepared a few little gifts for the kiddos, and he delivered them. He had first choice for who to give his surprises to and the audience enjoyed every moment. Who wouldn’t like receiving something special from a dog?!

On the way to ending the show, the crowd wanted more! So we provided more! Baba Fleur, Aramis’ sister, made her performance debut and definitely had the crowd going “aww”! She may be a little in size but her cute tricks definitely left a big impression and reminded us that having fun together is what’s important.

“Aramis and Fleur had loads of fun. They enjoyed the crowd and seeing so many new and happy faces and being a part of lots of laughter on the day. Can't wait for another adventure together and will cherish these memories”

- Rianie and Len

The fun didn’t stop there however! The pups enjoyed Pup Cups and loads of treats from Starbucks, explored the mall (the statues for photo opportunities in particular) and even took a ride in the little kids train that drives through the mall.

Despite the challenging environment, the dogs were amazing and I definitely think that it goes to show how incredible their bonds are with their dedicated humans. I definitely know that talent is not something this group lacks and wherever they go, fun follows. We eagerly await the release of the movie and can’t wait to see our little section on Nickelodeon!
